The seasons may change but the mountains always stay the same. And like an old wise man once told us: “if there’s a slope, I’m going down it.”
Just because there’s no snow on the ground doesn’t mean you can’t utilize the mountains for what they do best: thrill us with the power of gravity. Over at Snowbird, there are plenty of tracks, slides and slopes to keep you busy any time of the year.
The Snowbird Mountain Coaster is a roller coaster-luge love-child that twists and zooms down the Snowbird slopes for over 3,000 feet of speed. Fueled with nothing but gravity, it’s as pure of a rush as the first ski down Baldy (we’re getting closer don’t worry.)
Snowbird’s Alpine Slide is the most relaxing way to fly down the mountain. Winding down Chickadee Run, take in the view of the summer pines or race your buddies and family to the end. The driver of the cart controls the speed, so your Alpine Slide experience is a little choose-your-own-adventure.
Just like its winter counterpart, Summer Tubing is always a blast. Thanks to the super slippery Neveplast material, east Chickadee’s tubing slope is always the slickest on the mountain. Just like the Alpine Slide, you can enjoy the view or settle a tiebreaker with a race. Either way, you can’t lose…well, unless the other tube gets to the bottom first. We don’t make the rules.
Masks are required to participate in any Snowbird activities this summer. Guests are required to sanitize before each use of any activity and carts and tubes are disinfected in between each use. Not a bad trade-off, in our opinion.
And even if these activities are not what you’re looking for, nobody is too cool for a Peruvian Chairlift ride or an Observation Point Trail. When it comes to summer, Snowbird still has it going on.
