The last of the skiers are now long gone. But that doesn’t mean we go quiet.
Our team is already hard at work preparing for another unforgettable winter. Here’s a peek behind the scenes at what happens around the lodge once the snow melts.
A Major Upgrade Is Coming to the Ski Shop The Alta Peruvian Ski Shop has been helping guests get the most out of their skis for decades, and our tuning equipment has evolved right alongside the sport.
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, ski tuning often meant belt sanding and plenty of hands-on craftsmanship. By the early 2000s, we had upgraded our equipment to provide the kind of race-quality service serious skiers expect. We’re taking things to another level in 2027.
Our new Reichmann Slopemaster SK tuning machine is currently being assembled at the Reichmann factory in Germany and will arrive in Alta before the 2026-27 winter season. The new machine will allow us to provide even more precise tuning, helping our guests get the best possible performance from their equipment, whether they’re carving groomers or chasing powder.
Wedding Season Has Arrived We’re often asked, “Do you host weddings at the Peruvian Lodge?” And boy, do we ever. Last weekend, we officially swapped our ski boots for dancing shoes as we hosted our first wedding of the season.
Between now and September, the Peruvian will welcome couples, families, and friends for celebrations nearly every weekend. Seeing the lodge take on a completely different energy is truly remarkable.
There’s something special about seeing the same mountains that welcome skiers and snowboarders each winter transformed into a backdrop for wedding ceremonies. With Mount Superior towering overhead and wildflowers beginning to appear throughout Little Cottonwood Canyon, it’s easy to understand why so many couples choose Alta for their big day.

Looking Ahead
Summer may look different around the Peruvian, but we’re always thinking about the guests we’ll welcome back to the lodge. And before we know it, the snow will be flying again. Until then, we’ll keep you posted on all the summer happenings around the Peruvian.
