When you’re good, you’re good … Earlier this month, KSL Newsradio asked its readers to vote for the best ski report in Utah. The winner? Alta Ski Area!
The radio station asked readers to judge Utah’s 14 ski resorts and select their favorite based on its best amenities, tastiest food, most exciting summer activities and best trails. Alta, where the Alta Peruvian Lodge is located, is known as a mountain for ski purists — and is one of three resorts in the United States that is a ski-only destination. Alta’s high-elevation and north-facing snow are key factors in our area’s consistently top-notch skiing conditions from year to year.
Also this month, Alta welcomed some snow lovers of a furrier variety.
Dog teams from across the country — some even from as far as Europe — were in Utah training for avalanche rescues. Much of the training is done through games for the dogs that will help them should the time come for an avalanche rescue. It’s a doggone good time with real life-saving results.
There’s always something happening in Alta! Will you be joining us for some award-winning skiing this season? The powder’s fresh and we’re ready to welcome you to our winter wonderland.
