We host weddings from June through September. The first two weeks of June may or may not be ideal for outdoor ceremonies, depending on the level of snowmelt.
Catering
Because we are closed during the summer months, access to our facility is limited. While we do not provide food services, you may choose your own caterer, who will have access to our kitchen for light food staging and preparation. The kitchen’s ice machine, sinks, prep tables and refrigerators are available for use.
BYO(Beverages)
That’s right! You can bring your own alcoholic beverages. However, Utah law requires all alcohol to be served by a licensed bartender.
You Don’t Have To Go Home…
But you can’t stay here. Sorry, but overnight accommodations are not available at our lodge. We’re happy to provide you with a list of nearby resorts accepting summer reservations.

I wanted to say thank you for being such a fantastic venue host! Throughout the entire process, you were an incredible resource – so helpful, so knowledgeable, and so friendly! We received so many compliments on the venue (for which we could not take credit!), and our families were so impressed with your presence throughout the weekend. Thank you again for everything! We hope to come visit you all at the Peruvian soon, perhaps for a stay this winter. We’ll be sure to say hello ~ Serena
We had our wedding ceremony and reception up at the Alta Peruvian Lodge (The P Dog). We had a fantastic time and the wedding was memorable. We were able to set up days before and had the freedom to decorate however we wanted. Our guests loved the laid back feeling. We had to move our ceremony inside, but it made for a beautiful close wedding. I would not change it. ~ Rachel
Todd at the Peruvian Lodge will let you craft the precise event you want. He put virtually no restrictions on what we could do and were so helpful and supportive throughout the process. Our ceremony was outside on the lawn, with dinner in the dining room, and then dancing in the other room downstairs. They gave us two suites to use, too. Our out-of-town guests (99% flew in from out of state) were flabbergasted by the views and their experience up in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Guests can’t stay at the Peruvian for your summer wedding, so there’s even more flexibility for their experience. I can’t wait to get our photos back and relive the day.
~ Kate
Everything was perfect. They were very accommodating and I loved that we had the whole week to set up and takedown. It was beautiful. ~ Megan
We feel that we had the best experience possible. The staff at the Alta Peruvian Lodge were helpful before, during, and after our wedding. Having several days ahead, to bring in items for our wedding, took so much pressure off of us, so that everything could be arranged as we hoped. We used the Alta Peruvian Lodge bartender and he was perfect. The Alta Peruvian Lodge is a spectacular location where you can create the wedding that YOU want. Thanks for a great day! ~Helene
The Alta Peruvian Lodge was the best place for us to have our wedding reception. We had our wedding in Salt Lake City and then went up there for dinner and dancing. In the dining room, we were able to have a hand served dinner to about 165 people and that was about the max amount of people the dining room could hold. The dancing area was decorated with string lights and a dance floor provided by the Peruvian and still had room for a 6 person live band. Of all of the venues I looked at for receptions in the mountains, the Alta Peruvian was the only place that allowed you to bring in your own caterer and alcohol. They were so accommodating to our requests and very helpful throughout the entire process. I would love to host a party there again and if this beautiful rustic lodge is where you see yourself getting married I highly recommend it. ~Michelle
We loved having our wedding at the Peruvian! Little Cottonwood Canyon cannot be beaten for scenery, and the Peruvian Lodge epitomizes an outdoor, mountain life. Steve and Todd were both a pleasure to work with. They set up all the table and chairs for our ceremony and reception and took them down again. They gave us access to the building midweek before the wedding until early week after the wedding so that we had plenty of time to set up and clean up. They also let us come up several times before the event to show our families around. We liked that we could select our own caterer, bartender, etc. They were very flexible about us selecting our own vendors, and bringing our own alcohol for the reception. We ended up staying later than we intended, and they were very flexible about that.
If you are looking for a rustic, mountain venue with an outdoor ceremony site, this is the place for you! They are very laid back and easy to work with, but still professional. We felt like it was the perfect place for us. The venue and the staff matched our laid back, fun-loving style. ~Sarah
