Need an excuse to book one final ski trip to Alta? Well, you’re in luck. Starting at the end of March, we have plenty of available rooms until final chair on April 16th. We’re going to recap this year’s snow metrics to date and forecast the rest of the season until we can see the ground underneath.
The 2021-22 Snowfall history was a tricky one. The year-to-date snowfall sits at 350”. Our most precipitous month was unsurprisingly December, with 131”. Snowfall numbers dropped off gradually through the heart of winter in January and February before hopping right back to 41” on top of 93” of base in March. Considering March is only halfway through, this gives us hope for a very strong finish.
Over the past four seasons, not a single month of April has produced less than 42” of snowfall. Currently, we are on track to finish March with over 80” of new pow, the most since the 2018-19 season. And if that season is any indication, we could be in for anywhere from 60-80” of fresh pow.
We know you don’t need any extra motivation to pack up your gear and go for one final ride. We expect a wild end to the 2021-22 season, with you taking full advantage.
